How It Works

01.

Free 15 Minute Consultation

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, so this free 15-minute phone call is a chance for us to chat about what’s bringing you in and what you’re hoping to get from therapy. I’ll also share a bit about my professional background, how sessions work, rates, and scheduling. This quick conversation helps us both confirm we’re a good fit before diving in.

02.

Outline Goals & Begin Therapy

Once we start working together, we’ll prioritize what matters most to you. We'll talk about your goals, align on a plan and set a pace that feels right - whether that’s weekly or bi-weekly sessions. We offer in person, online or hybrid appointment options. Using evidence-based therapy approaches, we’ll work toward lasting change that fits your life and needs.

03.

Find Relief & See Change

You’re not broken, you’re human. Therapy is not advice, it’s learning more deeply about yourself, your needs and your values. Through your sessions, you’ll gain tools to feel more grounded, confident, and aligned with the life you want to live. Our work together is about helping you come home to your most authentic self.

Trauma Focused -
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
(TF -CBT)

Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a structured, goal-oriented type of talk therapy. It can help manage mental health conditions and emotional concerns.

CBT has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders, and severe mental illness.

CBT helps you become aware of inaccurate or negative thinking so you can view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them in a more effective way.

Studies show that CBT outperforms antidepressant medication for the treatment of depression.

Incorporation of a Trauma Focused lens integrates the unique practices required to appropriately support folks with a history of trauma.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is a type of mindful psychotherapy that helps you stay focused on the present moment and accept thoughts and feelings without judgment.

ACT is a psychotherapy approach to improve your relationship with your thoughts and emotions.

ACT provides support for individuals by promoting psychological flexibility, helping them accept themselves and their experiences, and encouraging a lifestyle aligned with their core values.

Studies show that 75% of people who tried ACT reported remission of their symptoms and improvement in their quality of life.

Somatic Processing & Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)

Somatic processing is a therapeutic approach that tackles both the psychological and physical symptoms of trauma.

Somatic therapy engages the mind-body connection to express deeply painful or traumatic experiences, applying healing to aid with trauma recovery.

Therapists use somatic interventions to help calm their clients' nervous system, and create more ease in the healing process.

Mindfulness, or increasing one’s awareness and connection with self through active reflection, has been shown to improve self-control, objectivity, affect tolerance, enhanced flexibility, equanimity, improved concentration and mental clarity.
